These are pictures of the progress so far on the building! Finally we are making some progress!
This machine is pumping water out of the ground. There is a tube going around the hole with a bunch of little tubes going down into the ground. This is suppose to help keep the ground dry, so we can continue and not get held up with water anymore!
Thank you all for your continued support through this.

The Building...
...is gone! Sorry about the delay in pictures. The first picture is of everyone waiting for the okay to take down the back part of the building. The second is them taking down the back. The third is the back 90% down. We are very thankful to have had such great weather for the demo. They are still working on taking the basement part of it out. Things are moving in the right direction. We are very excited to see things progressing!
Thank you for the continued support!

The meeting...
...was a success !!! We got the permission to rebuild. As of right now the estimates are anywhere from 4 to 6 months. The building will have to be a little shorter because before the back of it was on City property. Although it is shorter, the dining area will be wider. We have the okay to build right up to the white building next door. In making it wider, we won't be adding more seating, it will be to make it more spacious.
I will make sure to update with pictures as the progress continues. Thank you for all of your support, we hope to be up and running as soon as possible!

Meeting
Hello Everyone,
Sorry for the lack of updates. Not much has been going on. We are planning on going to a meeting with the City of Holland tomorrow night (Thursday). We are praying that they will give us the variances that we need in order to rebuild. I will update either tomorrow or Friday on how things go at the meeting.
Have a great day!
Jenn

Hitting the ground running!
Hey everyone!
We really just want to send out a Thank you for all of the support we are getting. The Holland community is really making us feel like we are all a big family!
My dad has been in contact with a contractor and they are saying at the most 6 months. I know for some of you that may seem like an eternity, but in the beginning they were telling us up to a year. Things are really starting to move forward. We have been inventorying what was in the building. You really don't know how many things you have until they are gone! We should really start seeing somethings happening soon. They are talking about demolition here in the next couple weeks. I will make sure to post something for when they are planning on doing it.
We are still trying to collect pictures of the building. Whether inside or outside, old or new, people or no people. We want to use these as some decorations within the building.
Thank you all once again for everything!
God Bless,
Jenn

Hello!
Hello Everyone!
We thought it would be great to start a blog for Jackie's Place! We are planning on keeping everyone up to date on the progress of rebuilding.
For those who don't know:
Saturday, February 14, 2009, my father (K.P.) was woke up by a phone call saying that his restaurant was on fire. The very popular Jackie's Place Restaurant, was burning down.
Now we are in the search for fun pictures of the restaurant. It doesn't have to be just the building. People are welcome to be in them. We want to use them to decorate when we rebuild. Feel free to e-mail me the pictures at Jenniferference@yahoo.com.
Thanks Everyone!
